Hi, I’m Virginia Thorn, an actor based in London & East Sussex, with my own Theatre Company
I am a Meisner-trained actor and classically trained singer with a portfolio spanning theatre, music, post-production, film and voice-over. I received an Emmy Award for Outstanding Editing on the HBO Generation Kill by David Simon and am a graduate of Rose Bruford College.
In 2023 I co-founded Pocket Of Light Theatre Company. Following a sell-out run in the lead role of John Patrick Shanley’s Savage in Limbo, our newest project is a script in development with acclaimed playwright Doug Lucie, supported by Arcola Theatre and funded by Arts Council England. I have been working alongside our director Sebastien Blanc as Creative Producer and Actor to lay the groundwork for this exciting piece focussing on the marginalisation of older voices in theatre and society, with a full production scheduled for 2027. Doug Lucie’s plays have previously been produced at theatres including The Royal Court, The Bush and The National.
The year kicked off with the fantastic news that my funding application to Arts Council England on behalf of Pocket Of Light, was successful. With the support of Mehmet Ergen, we began script development with an R&D at Arcola Theatre. We are deeply grateful for the belief in the project.
Alongside theatre, I work as a role-play actor, voice-over artist, and singer songwriter on the folk scene. I am currently voicing e-learning courses for tech company Coding Liquids on Udemy. I hold an MA in Creative Arts Psychotherapy and have led multidisciplinary teams across therapeutic and educational settings, including the design and delivery of a bespoke performing arts SEN curriculum.
